What do You (and I) have to do to be Saved - to Become A Christian?
We must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:30 & 31 “And
brought
them out, and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said,
“Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.””
Does this mean that we simply “believe” that Jesus Christ is real?
“The word here for
“believes” means:
to have faith (in, upon, or with respect, to a person or thing)
that is credit;
by implication entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being
to Jesus
Christ): believe (r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.”
Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries
We must put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for our spiritual well being to save us from condemnation.
John 3:18 “He (or she) that believes on him (the Lord Jesus Christ) is not condemned: but he (or she) that believes not is condemned already, because he (or she) has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (the Lord Jesus Christ).”
Realize that God Loves You!
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 John 4:9 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.”
Acknowledge that All Are Sinners.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Galatians 3:22 “But the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”
Discover God’s Remedy!
Romans 10:9 & 10 “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart a person believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
John 1:12 “But as many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
1 John 5:11 “And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Be Saved Now (Today)!
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he said, I have heard you in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I helped you: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”
Proverbs 27:1 “Boast not
yourself of
tomorrow; for you know not what a day may bring forth.”
James 4:14 “Whereas you
know not
what shall be on the morrow. For what is
your life? It is even a vapor,
that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.”
Genesis 6:3 “And the LORD
said, “My
spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is
flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.””
Psalms 95: 7-9 “For he is our God; and we are the people of
his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if
you will hear his voice,
Harden not your heart, as
in the
provocation, and as in the day of
temptation in the
wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.”
Hebrews
10: 29-31 “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be
thought
worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the
blood of
the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath
done
despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that has said,
Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, says
the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It
is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Believer’s Assurance
John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Someone that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 10:28 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish; neither shall any one pluck them out of my hand.”
1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
If You want to be a Christian, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. We must put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for our spiritual well being to save us from condemnation. Realize that God Loves You! Acknowledge that All Are Sinners. Discover God’s Remedy. Be Saved now (today)! Be assured of Your Salvation. You must make a commitment to live the rest of Your Life trusting in Jesus Christ as Your only hope for eternity. Believe that Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem us to God.

Psalms 37:5 “Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Here's a sample prayer to receive salvation:
Father in Heaven I Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. I put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for my spiritual well being to save me from condemnation. I realize that You Love me! I acknowledge that all are sinners. I discovered your remedy. I am saved now (today)! I am assured of my salvation. I make a commitment to live the rest of my life trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as my only hope for eternity. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem me to you Father God. Thank you, Father in Heaven for saving me from condemnation. I trust your Holy Spirit to work in me to will and to do according to your good pleasure. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
